My husband's sister & uncle(Father's brother)both have schizophrenia. What is probability my child has it too |
a. I am 34 and my husband 43. We want to have a baby. What would be the risk of having baby with schizophrenia when his sister and uncle(father's brother) both have this mental disorder? What would be probability that my child get it too? b. If my husband has had a not intensive schizophrenia when he was young(I am not sure about this), in this case what would be probability that my child get it too? Your child may have an increased chance of developing Schizophrenia, it does have a genetic component. But it doesn't mean he or she will definitely develop a mental illness! I have known people with Schizophrenia to have children who have gone onto adulthood without developing any symptoms of the illness. , should stay away from milk productshave heard a lot about allergic reactions to it.cause ing this problem..keep your child away from any drugs as best you can. that sets it off in some people. stress also.not a lot a person can do. really. might be some new treatments , do nt know. keep your child healthy with good foods. no sweets especially.and pray. Schizophrenia does have a genetic component, and hence your child will be more likely than the average person to develop schizophrenia. However it would still be a fairly low chance.. In addition I can tell you that use of drugs - such as cannabis, can bring on psychotic symptoms - so as any parent would do, try and instill this in the mind of your child when he/she gets older and make sure that he/she knows that those psychotic symptoms could arise out of just one trial of illegal drugs.. |
