Does anyone know where I can do an online 'early schizophrenia diagnosis' test? |
I found one at www.schizophrenia.com/sztest but it's currently offline, does anyone know where else I could take this test or a similar one? These tests are HIGHLY inaccurate, they do not look at your personal history your behaviour how you react one on one with people they cannot look at your body language and your thoughts. An online test and research will never determine whether you have it or not, there are so many illnesses out there that can present schizophrenic like symptoms (brain tumors make a great job of this) stress can cause "voices" even hallucinations at times, medications can also the pill has been known to at times cause schizophrenic like symptoms in some very very few patients, the list goes on and on, you will never get all the symptoms just online and online information is often very incarcerate because a lot of it is written by anyone at all with no qualifications. A proper evaluation needs the right doctor (a lot of doctors will not diagnose you correctly) it takes quite a few sessions you cant just sit down for 10 minutes and come to a conclusion and it needs a very in depth study of your self. There are now brain scans which will show the brains abnormal behaviour and such so physical tests are now begining to become more of a reality. No matter how much you research and how many tests you do, if you are serious you should understand self diagnosis is one of the most inaccurate things you can do. If you suspect you have it see a doctor and have them evaluate you yourself. Who knows you could even be a hypochondriac Med MD on line what is schizophrenia? don't do it because you will find similar traits. these traits does not always mean you are schizophrenic! we all have them! It is hard to diagnose schizophrenia, especially on line. There are 6 different types of schizophrenia, plus multiple sub types, like schizo-affective, schizotypal, schizoid personality disorder, etc. It would be interesting to know why you are looking at this. If you are truly schizophrenic, you wont know it. A mentally ill person is the last to doubt their sanity. The only place to get an accurate "test" is at the psychiatrist. My son has schizoaffective disorder(combination of schizophrenia and bipolar disorder) and some of his early symptoms seemed like depression....so he was given meds for ADHD and depression. Turns out he was having visual hallucinations....sidewalk moving...tv images greatly distorted, peoples faces appeared to be leering at him, as opposed to hearing voices. Hearing voices is supposed to be a sympton which always occurs with schizophrenia.....but research has found that those with manic depression(bipolarity) can also hear voices if they become psychotic. My son was always aware there was something wrong with him but until he had a psychotic break and completely lost touch with reality and was hospitalized, he was not diagnosed properly. One classic symptom he has is extreme anxiety and he also becomes withdrawn.......staying in his room for days talking to no one. He was very angry and agitated and paranoid which are all symptoms of schizophrenia but can also indicate drug use. Cocaine and even pot can induce those symptoms. He could never sleep til 3 or 4 in the morning, but I also suffer from insomnia. What I'm trying to say is that there are some common symptoms but they are also common to a lot of other illnesses so you really need to go speak to a doctor who can refer you to a psychiatrist. Trying to diagnose something as serious as schizophrenia by using an online test is NOT A GOOD IDEA! I don't know where you live, but if you are in Canada and don't have a doctor you can go to a clinic or ER and ask to speak to a mental health nurse. I realize if you live in the U.S and don't have insurance that could be a problem but please don't fool around with self diagnosis. If you are feeling that badly you MUST see a doctor. |
