How should i handle this situation ( a close relative has schizophrenia)?

my mom has schizophrenia. She was in the hospital for a few months and took medicine for about two years. Her doctor took her off the medicine and now she is starting to act weird again. My family is not close at all. The only person that i could ever talk to was my mom and now shes not the same. My dad yells at her for acting weird but she can't control her behavior and about how much money he had to put out for her medications. My parents don't have health insurance. Is there anything I could get my mom on to cover her medications and to get the help she needs? They cant afford to get insurance. Are there support groups available for families?

try checking with the DHHR(department of health and human resources) aka welfare in your town, you could also check with local clinics they have some programs for stuff like this,I am so sorry your mom is sick i will keep her in my prayers;goodluck
I'm a nurse. Yes she needs to apply for health insurance through the state or ask for a sliding fee rate. The doctor is the best person to have this information you need. Take care. Try the unemployment office as well for health care insurance.
She needs to be on medications. Period. If she is acting wierd again, take her to the ER. Especially if she has tendency towards dangerous things like self mutilating, hurting others, paranoia etc.
