How many group homes and other resources are available to people who have been diagnosed with schizophrenia?

I am writing a research essay in my english class about mental heatlh. My paper will be about societies envolvment. I want to know what facilities are available for people diagnosed with schizophrenia. Is it easy to use these services that are available if any. Do people who are diagnosed feel that there is enough resourses for them to use, such as group homes, hospitals, programs that help pay for medication.

I was diagnosed schizophrenic when I was 13, but recently got rediagnosed as schizoaffective at age 17. I don't feel there are any resources I can turn to, because once you say you're schizophrenic or schizoaffective people tend to close their minds and judge you as "insane." They look at you differently and treat you differently, like you're a bomb ready to explode. I was in a hospital once and loved it, they treated me like an equal and not someone who is "crazy."
