Is it wise for a student to stop schooling (at least for a while) because of a schizophrenia condition? |
Which is better, to commit suicide OR to face the challenges of abnormal walking, harrassment and memory loss at school? take a break and try one of the new atypical antipsychotic drugs, you may find that the uncoordination passes with the new drugs. good luck. Get professional help THEN face the challenges. Medication is incredibly helpful for people with mental illnesses, and can help you get through difficult times. I am for taking a break, just dont follow what I did I dropped out of high school do to the same problems and I never went back, if you know you will go back i think it is a good idea to get yourself together and get healthy If this student isn't up to meeting the challenges of being at school, there might be other ways of keeping him/her socially and educationally involved while strengthening his/her coping skills and self-esteem at the same time in those social activities- without going to school. I think this is a question for a professional who has the requisite resources to help you. You must determine with professional help whether this student is strong enough to be at school, and what alternatives there are to keep him/her growing, learning and functioning in interim. |
