My doctor diagnosed me with Schizophrenia recently. Anybody know how to deal with this? my first reaction would be to get 2 more opinions. it is a very serious diagnosis and if not taken care of properly, can get very out of hand. once you get your 2nd and 3rd opinion, you then need to take a good look at yourself and identify what trigures any episodes. and identify who are the best type of people to surround yourself with. once you can do that, if you can stick to your medication, eat healthy, and do regular excercise (look after yourself) you shouldnt have too many problems. but do yourself a favour and get 2 more opinions first.. then figure it all out. i was diagnosed with bi polar and it has taken me many years to realise that there are things that trigure off my episodes. but now i have figured it out, i stay healthy and look after myself. and have not had an episode for about 6months. i also found the more doctors i spoke to, the better i understood myself and accepted myself look at the person standing behind you Follow your doctor's instructions, and take your medications as ordered, even if you feel OK. Get a medication prescribe by your doctor. See schizophrenia at http://www.ezy-build.net.nz/~shaneris... on page 7. Antipsychotic drugs is the best thing to handle schizoprenia, so you must ask prescription from your physician for this drugs. Take your medication as directed and if you run out, dont wait to get it refilled. there are plenty of 24 hour pharmacies. its very important that if you have a night pill, to take it. the majority of incidents involving Schizophrenia and other mental illnesses happen then. |
