When my boyfriend was younger they diagnosed him with schizophrenia? |
now, he's saying that he thought he had it. does it ever go away? if a dog diagnoses you, is he definetly right? A dog? or a doc? schizophrenia is dangerous for him and for you but don't abandon your boyfriend if he needs help and if first of all you love him! A dog ??? I dont see why a dog would diagnose anyone with anything besides stinky feet. And unless you take medicine, schizophrenia does not go away. Shrinks know little about the brain. Shizophrenia is easy to treat. if he has it, it doesn't go away, and medication he can cope with is needed. Try the NIMHealth for drugs. Yes, Zyprexa works, but you'll gain 100 lbs and diabetes, maybe. Do your own research. no, the diagnosis is not always right. Particularly if your bf was a heavy user of drugs and or alcohol. Schizophrenia may be better or worse with the stress in ones life. It is also possible that your bf's parents told him that was the diagnosis, when it was a more complex, subtle diagnosis. Schizophrenia, short of a miracle, does not go away. It is a serious mental illness. Did you mean to write "dog"? I think you meant doc...it depends on the doctor. Most psychiatrists go through extensive questioning of a patient before diagnosing. There are factors which can complicate diagnosis (drug/alcohol abuse). Below is a link to some facts about schizophrenia. It says a lot about your boyfriend that he shared this information with you. http://www.treatmentadvocacycenter.org/g...
