My mom has scleroderma and has blister like sores on palate. Why and what can she use to relive the pain? Many of the medications that physicians prescribe to treat scleroderma have side effects that can affect oral health. Some cause very uncomfortable mouth ulcerations. Have your Mom call the Dr. & see if she should discontinue the meds as they are causing severe side effects. She may also benefit from getting a prescripton for Minocycline from her Dr.to help treat the mouth sores. In the meantime, she should get a good Vitamin C & Vitamin B Complex supplement at your local health food store to aid in rapid healing of oral mucosa. Lastly, have her take a tablespoon of honey 3 times a day this is a natural antibacterial antifungal that should help relieve the symptoms. Hope this helps! |
