The sexual dysfunction cause by taking anti depressants is it permanent? If you've only just started, it may take up to six weeks or more for your body and brain to catch up. It is NOT permanent! It is a very common side effect of starting the medication. Please do not discontinue or alter the dosage of your specific medication. Things will get back to normal in time. I know, I've been through it! No it is not permanent. When you stop taking the anti-depressants it will revert to what it was before. Having said that I am NOT and in NO WAY suggesting that you or anyone else quite taking anti-depressants cold turkey for sexual function reasons. Please talk to the provider who prescribed the medication. Stopping anti-depressants cold turkey can have dire consequences. You experience extreme mood swings sometimes when quitting them without being weaned off. |
