Sexual dysfunction over the counter medications for women?? what works??

Ok.. I am a 22years old women, maried now for three years and I have always enjoyed sex but thats as far as it has EVER went (NO ACCUAL PLEASURE) from it and beleive me we've tried any thing and every thing I don't think I have EVER had an orgasm with my husband or any past lovers so what I'm wandering is : is there any type of over the counter medication that would help me as in a libido booster or sex drive booster I know there are many diferent ones out there that claim they work but i want personal experiece answers on what you have tried that has accually helped I have tried sentia? and steel libido for women with no response we have tried every thing from toys and clitoris stimulation but it does not seem to realy help any. Please I am sick of trying all these diffrent types It's begining to be a waist of money so If any one has accually had any results in a certain product please respond it realy would save a marriage...... we are very open to each other so in advance no finding

a certain spot on me will not work because we've been trying that for two years now I have no sweet spot apparntly and no, toys and masterbation has not helped either I beleive it may be bad blood flow or something because when we have been drinking (which thins the blood out) it makes it a lot better so maybe a medication that also increases blood flow?? please help me out

Popping a pill isn't going to help you, sorry. If the stuff they sell over the counter worked that well, the FDA would approve it.

You ought to visit a certified sex therapist instead.

EDIT: So...you have money to spend on pills but not one visit to a doctor? I think you need to save your money for a doctor's visit. I assure you that not only "rich" people see them...!

Just because something is "natural" or "herbal" doesn't make it safe! And if any are FDA approved (which I highly doubt) then I assure you that they are approved "as a vitamin/herbal supplement only, not intended to treat or cure any disease or condition". Look at the box and don't believe everything the advertisers tell you.

If there was a pill that really did increase female libido, then it would be a prescription drug. There is no such thing and researchers have unsuccessfully been trying to come up with one for years.

unfortunately, it is all in how you are genetically made up. Are you on the birth control pill?? If so, this could be your problem source (it was for me!). Nothing otc will help you no matter what the product label says.

1/2 an aspirin a day helps thin the blood, so should have the same effect as a drink or two and a lot cheaper....

Sexual dysfunction for the most part is a term used by the pharmaceutical industry to sell products - yeah, so it sounds slightly conspiracy-theary-ish but the more you look into this subject the more it seems to be true, for the majority of women it is a mental or emotional issue either resulting from abuse in earlier years, or far more often as a result of taboos surrounding women and sex repressing their education and expression. I'd point out here also that orgasm is not the be all and end all of sex in the slightest.

I used to classify myself as 'asexual' as for a long time I didn't feel sexual at all, let alone get sexual pleasure from partners during sex, although now I not only reach orgasm but ejaculate which is yet another thing that people are unaware of and due to that good old sexual taboo is still often considered a myth or something done only by a special few. There is one small myth that may hold some truth, that the G-spot does not develope or show until later on in life, say if that isn't true you still do have the cold hard fact that sex gets better with age - ask any female older than you, say your mothers generation, they will tell you the same thing, and it is true if just for experience and freedom within the bedroom if nothing else.

I sense you are getting agressive with some responses, but they are trying to help, if you won't accept help then no one can help you. To be honest I'd say you are looking at an emotional or mental problem whether you know it or accept it is another thing, you can try until you are blue in the face but all it is going to do is make you more frustrated thus compounding the problem - trust me, been there and done that. I'd recomend two things;

1. READ, there are more than enough books out there about female anatomy, sex and 'sexual dysfunction', but more than that there is a huge push behind sexual liberation and education for women which I have seen make huge differences in women's lives, these will do far more than over the counter 'sexual dysfunction' or sex drive pills will do for you. Books you may want to watch out for are a certain well-known book by Inga Muscio, Guide to Getting it On! by Paul Joannides and Daerick Gross, The Good Vibrations Guide to Sex by Cathy Winks, Our Bodies, Ourselves: A New Edition for a New Era by Boston Women's Health Book Collective, for a start.

2. Get a therapist, sexual dysfunction is normally down to emotions and mental health issues, you can pop pills until the cows come home it is not going to solve the problem - even if there was no problem to start with I'd say there is one now for you to be this frustrated and defeatest about the issue.

I believe as in any dysfunctional situations the best way to a resolution would be to seek medical advise. If you are buying over the counter drugs the warning label prompts you to seek the advise of your doctor before using. A sexual therapist may be the answer, reading up on yours and your husbands sexuality could help you both to better understand your bodies. Maybe even dress up fantasy can work. Medications are short term remedies love making with your spouse is long term. learn your bodies sexual wants and suggest to your husband what you like, where to kiss or touch you. Let him be your medication, good love making is not only your responsibility.
