Do blood pressure tablet cause sexual-dysfunction? Particularly the pill Amlodipine? |
Do blood pressure tablet cause sexual-dysfunction? Particularly the pill Amlodipine? Yes, I am afraid sexual difficulties is a side effect of Amlodipine. If this is a concern to you, go to your doc and talk about it. I know this is an uncomfortable topic to bring up, but there are oodles of other BP meds out there, and perhaps he could switch you to a different one. Good luck. Source(s): Nursing student...I looked it up in the 2007 PDR Nurses Drug Handbook published by thompson and Delmar learning My guy takes b/p pills still he is a stud on the bed! yes, they can. but mild compared to others. it could be worse. just get used to it. Yes, they all can have an effect Some do. The most common ones being diurectics and beta blockers. I didn't find this when I took them, but I'm young. The ones to least cause sexual dysfuction are Ace Inhibitors and ARBS (angio receptor blockers) An widely prescribed Ace Inhibtor is Altace. I found it to increase my sex drive, but I was allergic to it. I know take an ARB called Atacand and it doesn't have any side effects for me at all and I'm very happy. The Norvasc(Amlodipine) you mentioned make my feet swell. Reading from the link below, other people had problems with sexual-dysfuction. Ask your doctor. http://www.askapatient.com/viewrating.as... |
