Lithium and sexual dysfunction?


i just started taking lithium about 3 weeks ago and my question is does lithium affect sexual function in males. If so how severe

It shouldn't but be prepared to gain weight. There are newer mood stabilizers without the side effects of lithium, the blood testing you'll need and the toxicity worries.
I know Lithium is used for mental disorders. I don't know what my hubby tried when he was younger, but he refuses to take meds for BiPolar because it effected his libido and sexual function.

talk to your doc, some side effects subside over time, and you have to give the meds time. YOu also have to weigh the benefits with the side effects.
