Can anyone recommend an antidepressant that doesn't cause sexual dysfunction? |
I tried Prozac and Zoloft. They helped me, but I didn't like the -- excuse the term -- depressing side effect. A friend recommended Wellbutrin. Thanks! Wellbutrin is reported to have the least likelihood of sexual side effects. yes, wellbutrin. also, you can stay on the ssri and add wellbutrin to counteract the side effects of the ssri Have you tried Bach Flower remedies? For instance *rescue remedy* creates wonders. No side effects. Wellburtin has the least amount of side effects. When I was on Lexapro my sex drive actually increased. Good Luck finding something that works for you. try some meditation , it will help your depression as well improve your sex functioning Wellbutrin XL extended release works very well. It's also available generic now, so you can save some $$$. If is really bothering you, ask your Dr. who is prescribing you the anti depressants for some Viagra or cialis. Your Dr. is very aware of the sexual side effects and will have no problem giving you some ED drugs. It's almost better to use a cilalis (they last 3 days) once in a while than to add another SSRI. Although wellbutrin works on nor-epinephrine which is different from the SSRI's which is why you could take them together. Good Luck. (I speak from experience :) |
