Is sinusitis hereditary or contagious?

Both but it is only contagious for a couple days.

Its actually contagious, I had it for a while and gave it to my best friend xD
It's such an annoying thing to have cause it can take forever to get over.

it isn't contagious. i assume that it can be hereditary because my mother has it and i seem to be just ask lucky.

Unfortunately some of the people who answered you were misinformed. Sinusitis is the inflamation of the nasal passages. This, in itself, is not contagious. However, whatever caused it might be. Sinusitis can be caused by a sinus infection or other respitory infection, allergies, blocked nasal cavities and so on. You can have a sudden, or acute attack of sinusitis or a prolonged or chronic sinusitis.

Sinis infections are not contagious. i get them every year, and noone else does! What is contagous from that is whatever you had that inflamed your siniuses.

My mom's side of the fam. has very bad allergies, sinius infections, etc. So I would assume both!
