Sinusitis + Blood = ?

I had a very bad cold last week, and just as it was starting to go away, I got bad headaches and pain around my eyes. I went to my doctor and she said I have sinusitis. What I'm really worried about though is when I blow my nose, it's extremely bloody. Not pink, but dark red. I feel like this isn't normal, to have a headache and be bleeding through my nose, but I don't know. Is this a normal symptom of sinusitis?

These days there is nothing like rhinitis (nose infection) or sinusitis (sinus infection) seperately. It is either acute or chronic rhinosinusitis (both nose and sinus infection). The symptoms u are having are of rhinosinusitis. Dont be lazy to apply Nasivion or Otrivin adult nasal drops at least 3 times a day for a week along with other antibiotics. This will decongestent ur nasal mucosa and help to drain away ur sinus so that any pus or blood collected in sinus will come out and help in ventilation of sinus. Also it will cause constriction of blood vessel and help reduce bleeding. U can have stem inhalations to prevent drying of ur nasal mucosa.

I have had the same symptoms of sinusitis that you are describing.

your nose is just dry from blowing it so much, I get the same thing. I use my saline solution- the same for my contacts and squirt up my nose a few times a day, particularly after blowing my nose. it will help the inflamation and the bleeding.
nothing to worry about.

If you are breathing in dry air it can cause the blood vessels in your sinuses / nose to constrict and sometimes bleed. Try a nasal saline solution and sleep with a humidifier so that you are breathing in moist air.
