What's the best way to relieve sinusitis?

What's the best way to relieve sinusitis?

I know now days everyone says no to antibiotics, but if antibiotics are not used, it always comes back, although for me it always comes back regardless. Myself and my daughter suffer from sinusitis several times a year. From my experience the only way to fully get rid of it is antibiotics. But to relieve the pressure and pain around the cheekbones, nose, eyes and forehead use a heat compress, it loosens congestion. also try saline drops for the nostrils and blow your nose constantly to get and keep the junk out of your nose and nasal (sinus) cavity. Also you could take over the counter sinus meds to relieve some of the symptoms from it.

Drink lots of water. It helps me a lot.
Also got a nasal spray from my doctor that helps greatly.
Anti-biotics didn't have any value at all to me.
Some people flush out their sinuses with salt water, but I never worked out ho\w to do it properly.

decongestants, tylenol for the pain, antibiotics to clear the infection, steam from the shower, puffs plus with lotion, time...

keep a humidifier in your room if its dry. Eat your vitamins and get your proper rest. That is the best way to prevent it from pleagueing you.

The right drug (antibiotic) of choice and self discipline!

All good answers above. Sometimes an infection needs professional assistance. For some relief you can try snuffing salt water into the nasal passages. This has been known to dry things up and heal. There are various methods including a nettie pot and other apparatus available in the pharmacy or on line. This is all for a home remedy of course, but if you are seriously suffering, it would be best to see your doctor. An ear, nose and throat specialist may be needed to diagnose the problem and advise you of a solution...Best wishes.
