I have been diagnosed with Sinusitis. I am suffering from severe headaches.?

I have been prescribed antibiotics but I complete the course today and I still feel unwell. I tried a steam inhalation of methylated crystals last night to no avail as still got a headache this morning.

Any suggestions? Have been having headaches for four weeks now and they are getting worse.

Try steam inhalation of Friar's Balsam. I don't think Boots do it any more, I bought my last bottle at Lloyd's, about 拢2.
Used to use it as a child, but once went to Doctor with sinusitis, and he gave me some, too! Use twice daily, in an old tin can or something else disposable, you won't be able to use container for anything else afterwards. Strong smell, but not unpleasant. Bet it will work, but give it 2 or 3 days.

You need to go back to your doctor or to another doctor. Increasing headaches can't be good.

You have pressure in your sinuses causing the headaches.

I had the same. There is a procedure you can have where they drain your sinuses but think carefully before you have it done.

It was the worse experience of my life but could be very successful.

Antibiotics are supposed to kill bacteria.. if you've got headache try drinking paracetamols... it won't have side effects against your antibiotics.. =]

Well,..........go into google health and read up about your condition............it is nothing serious.just try and keep away from colds dress warm in the colder days and eat a fortified diet

try the herbal remedies antibiotics are ok but doesnt cure the problem .Try the link best of luck

i use a good decongestant and a couple of co-codamol, it seems to work for me.

Your question reveals that you wanted to get rid of such problem. I request you to have second opinion too before taking any medicine. There may be many reasons for headaches. Firstly you have to give up all worries. God made us to be happy, cheerful and smiling. He never wanted to be in grip of such pains. Leave the place you live for somedays. Take leave and visit places of your choice. Keep all worries inside your home. Proper intake of oxygen and good sleep are also must.

You may try Yoga too for healthy living.

When my hubby gets a sinus headache he uses Syndol. It contains paracetamol, decongestant and really works. Be aware though that they make you very drowsy so if you take them make sure youre going to sleep. Ive had them and they really do work. They are available over the counter

There is a lot of sinusitis about at the moment and it's not clear what's causing it. A course of antibiotics helps with some of the symptoms, but sinusitis is more complicated than just a bacterial infection.

The headaches are because your breathing is restricted. Taking a brisk walk in the fresh air just before bedtime helps. Also rinsing out your nose with warm saline can improve things. (Try larger branches of Boots for a Sinus rinse kit).

Unfortunately, the only real cure for sinusitis is time and your immune system. Various remedies make the wait more pleasant. It will probably go away when the weather gets wamer.

i have sinusitis at the moment and my eldest son also gets it frequently. I find it very painful and painkillers are a must. Anti-inflammatory's are the best such as nurofen. A headache for 4 weeks sounds a bit extreme so i would go back to Dr to check this out. Sinusitus generally is a result of a virus to anti-biotics aren't usually given. You'll probably find now that any colds or flus immediately affect your sinuses and this will be a weak point all the time. I feel really groggy at the moment and my eyes feel really puffy so my sympathies go out to you. Hope your feeling better soon.

I don't want to alarm you but I think you've got it for good. I'm now 31 and I've had synus problems since I was about 14 (of course in the past 10 years it got worse). I don't know what works as I've had steroids etc. nothing helps. Yeah, the headaches are horrid, just make sure you always have headache tablets with you. Aspirin or Ibuprofen are good for this type of headache. Take some rest, when your runny nose gets worse then you know you'll soon have headaches so just have the tablets ready. When the runny nose gets better then you should be ok, no headaches. It's a never-ending cycle.

i have suffered for years with this problem doctor sent me for xray hospital say nothing they can do av to live with it told me if i stop smoking it will help i have to go lie down when i get it it so painfull feel like i drunk and makes me dizzyi now take decongestant tabs from superdrug they brill
