Can anyone tell me how to treat sinusitis effectively?

plz help.sometimes I have to take analgesic to relieve my headache.tell me any tips u know.I would be grateful.

I had the same situation.I'm doing water therapy and yoga programme(Isha Yoga). Now I'm completely out of sinus.
Water therapy-Drink 1.26litre water first thing in the morning with empty stomach, before brushing and washing your face. For 1 hr don't drink or eat anything at all.For first few days you'll be urinating frequently or little loose motion will be there, don't worry that's normal. In a week's time you 'll be searching your sinus trouble.
Yoga programme relieves your stress, which is one of the causes for sinusitis. It cleanse your nasal passage,so that you can breath easily.

you haven't mentioned how long you have had this problem, whether it's recurrent or not...you should see an ENT specialist to rule out causes such as deviated nasal septum..you might need a course of antibiotics and analgesics..a simple home remedy that supplements the medication is steam inhalation thrice a day..it works wonders..if all this has been tried then go to your general practitioner who will look for other causes of headache..

Go on a cleasing diet of fruit, vegetables and fresh water for a week. No breads or meat. You will be surprised in the difference.

i saw this on oprah where Dr.Oz gave this tip

Before you try pouring water into your nostril, Dr. Oz offers some neti pot pointers. First, mix warm water with a quarter teaspoon of non-iodized salt.

"You never want to wash [human] tissue without having saltwater in them," he says. "Your own cells like it more."

Dr. Oz says washing out your sinuses with regular water can be irritating. Cold water may make you feel like you're drowning in a pool.

Amy, an audience member who suffers from sinusitis, demonstrates the proper way to use a neti pot. "I thought it would feel like drowning, but it feels good," she says.

It may look strange, but Dr. Oz says this treatment may be more effective than medication. "The [ear, nose and throat] doctors who are specialists in this area will often say this is a better treatment than a lot of the other drugs that we try to offer folks, because it mechanically cleans out the problem," he says.

Take ayurvedic pill CEphagrain 1-1-1 for one month. Also use Cephagrain nose drops twice a day. Do steam inhaling for ten minutes at night before going to bed daily. After one month, you can continue the medication if required or reduce the dose.

1] powder the turmeric(i.e., the root of turmeric), sprinkle
it over red hot coal or charcoal(if not these atleast fire) and
inhale the fumes through nose and exhale through mouth
(never do viceversa),it relieves headache within minutes

2] take a small piece of ginger, chew it with your incisors
only, for a period of 5-8 minutes and allow the juice to
flow down your alimentary tract, if necessary drink luke
warm water after 15 minutes
{you can do this twice a day for 7 days, it also improves
appetite,digestive capacity and relieves constipation}
this will provide long term relief, just give a try

Go to your local pharmacy and see if they sell sinucleanse. It clears out your whole sinus cavity. It is not prescribed so you can buy it. It will help you. I bought it at Walgreens.
