MY HEARING IS AFFECTED DUE TO SINUSITIS .......IS IT TEMPORARY OR PERMANENT?

Your hearing loss is temporary. First of all, treat sinusitis.
Sinusitis is inflammation of the paranasal sinuses due to viral, bacterial, or fungal infections or allergic reactions. Symptoms include nasal obstruction and congestion, purulent rhinorrhea, cough, facial pain, malaise, and sometimes fever. Treatment is with antibiotics, such as amoxicillin, penicillin, erythromycin, or trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole, given for 12 to 14 days for acute sinusitis and for up to 6 wk for chronic sinusitis. Decongestants and application of heat and humidity may help relieve symptoms and improve sinus drainage. Recurrent sinusitis may require surgery to improve sinus drainage.
Take these steps to reduce your risk of getting acute sinusitis:
* Avoid upper respiratory infections. Minimize contact with people who have colds. Wash your hands frequently with soap and water, especially before your meals.
* Carefully manage your allergies. Work with your doctor to keep symptoms under control.
* Avoid cigarette smoke and polluted air. Tobacco smoke and other pollutants can irritate and inflame your lungs and nasal passages.
* Use a humidifier. If the air in your home is dry, such as it is if you have forced-air heat, adding moisture to the air may help prevent sinusitis. Be sure the humidifier stays clean and free of mold with regular, thorough cleaning.

i suffer too it comes and goes it can last for days sometimes and make you a little paranoid that your hearing things that are not there
you can get them cleaned at docs this will help as it clears the wax that stops the tiny hairs from vibrating ive had mine for three years and it has nearly stoped although it comes back when i listen to loud music
or tilt my head for to long....Patience is really needed good luck :)

When I was a little kid I had sinusitis. It affected my learning and the ppl in california (I also moved from out of state at a bad time) I was held back a year in Kindergarten. As a result I was about a year older than most people in my grade but it wasn't such a big deal. So I say temporary. I haven't had any sinusitis at all since I was say 11 or 12. there is hope

Your hearing problem is temporary, if it is due to sinusitis. Severe congestion can cause a lot of problems with ears, nose and throat. Once the sinusitis clears completely everything will return to normal.

its just temporary. you're just super congested. if it doesn't get better eventually, definitely ask a doctor
