Which antibiotic you recommend for Sinusitis and RTI? |
The person has developed resistance to Levofloxacin, Ciprofloxacin and Azithromycin. You can try Co amoxiclav, which is a combination of Amoxicillin and potassium clavulanate 3 times a day for 10 days or doxycycline 100mg,taken twice a day for 10 days. You will have to combine antibiotics with nasal decongestants[drops or sprays] maybe Rocefin? but with your resistances I don't know if it would work. i really dont know what would be successful, they might need to do surgery and scrape the sinuses. Has the person tried biaxin? I had chronic sinus infections and finally got sinus surgery. I have not had one since. It was the best thing I ever did and I can breathe so freely now. Most cases of sinusitis and RTI are viral infections and don't usually need antibiotics but if you think a secondary bacterial infection has occurred then you can try Dalacin C which has a good anaerobic coverage for sinusitis.
