What if you had skin cancer but didnt know it...?

and left it unchecked?

the only reason i ask is cause i have some moles and im sorta paranoid. im gonna get them checked so dont tell me that... but what if they have been cancerous for a really long time and i never knew?

knock on wood

Then it is good that you are finally getting the moles checked. If you have ignored the moles and they are cancerous you may have a higher level of cancer already, but let's not panic until you have them checked. There are three main kinds of skin cancer and they vary in their level of seriousness. My prayers and thoughts are with you.

then your unlucky

well that's just part of life.... it stinks- but it's the truth- we just deal with life as it rolls around. good luck

It would depend on the type of cancer, some are more deadly than others. Malignant melanoma is most deadly. I would think you would have noticed it growing if it had been growing a long time. Do go to the doc, don't let it go.

Squamous cell skin cancer is more aggressive than basal cell cancer. From the link given below concerning squamous cell cancer:

"Skin cancer has a high cure rate if it is treated early. Treatment depends on how big the tumor is, its location, and how much it has spread (metastasis)."

i have had 1 mole from my face removed yrs ago. there was nothing found (cancer).
6 days ago i had a growth on my ankle whick was removed, stitches are still in. no word yet what it is but its a scary thing for sure!
