I just found out my hampster has skin cancer how long will she have?

she is on steroids i ve got to take her back the vet next week

Ask your vet for the best advice.

oh...how sad. unsure of the time length..but it might mean having her put to sleep to save any suffering.

Can my snake have it?

That depends on how serious the cancer is, and whether or not it metastasizes.

not long but he'll die a horrible death if you really love your hamster you should get a knife and slit its throat

Sorry to hear that, but I'm glad to hear you're not asking about the cost of fixing it... just had a friend spend $15,000 on surgery for his 16 year old dog who has kidney faliure. I know how much you can love a pet, but $15,000? Let nature take it's course and enjoy the time left

speak to your vet about this.

I am so sorry to hear about your hamster. Depending on how far the cancer has spread will depend on how much longer you have with your hamster. A healthy hamster will live up to about 2-3 years. When you go back to the vet they will probably discuss any treatment with you and give you options on what you want to do. I don't know how they treat skin cancer in hamsters or even if it is possible so i would expect that they will be giving you the option of whether you want to put your hamster to sleep or not. If your hamster is healthy otherwise and seems to be happy then take it home and enjoy the time you have left, but if you notice that the hamster starts to suffer in any way then please consider having the hamster put to sleep because it will be more peaceful for both you and the hamster and if it understood it would thank you for it. Also remember to consider the financial side of things, treatment can be very costly and when the hamster only costs around 拢5 it can get quite ridiculous.

All the best x
