How is skin cancer currently treated? is there a cure for it?

Skin cancer is rarely deadly if you get it treated early enough. Doctor's usually just cut off the spot with it and it's gone. But sometimes it comes back and like spreads....that's what killed my mom :(
But don't worry about it if it's only in like the l or ll stage. The doctor's will treat it and it will be all gone.

It would depend on the extent of the cancer. It may be as simple as cutting it out or may require radiation, chemotherapy or all of the above.

Ive had skin cancer recently and so has my cousins father. We're both at extremes.

His was a sore on his scalp that wouldnt heal he went and got it removed and it was cancerous. It was a rare quick moving one and he already has tumours in his lungs and it had moved threr through lymph system. He had a partial lobectomy and is having chemo and the full cancer treatment. Its looking like he will be ok but it will be along haul for him.

I has a freckle that appeared on my hand and kept gorwin. I has it removed by wide local excision about 3 weeks ago. Local aneathetic and a few stitches it was no big deal. I had to go back to so they could see it was healing ok 3 days ago and the doc looked at my chart and "said not to worry your cured" and explained it was malignant in situ or something and it was 100 % gone no spread no need to worry.

Its a strange cancer my cousins father couls have died and is having heavy duty treatment i was cured before i even knew i was inflicted.

also this is a good site for finding out the treatment at different stages

Hi!
Skin cancer is treated differently depending on the type of skin cancer that is being treated. Skin cancer is almost always removed surgically, and if found early is most often cured by removal. If found in later stages, however, treatment is much more challenging. Skin cancer kills someone in the US every hour. Early detection is the key!
