Not sure if its skin cancer - what should i do? |
Hi about 2 weeks ago i got a red lump on my hand only small, it started to grow still only small. Hubby says it looks like a wart but im not so sure. Its round but looks like its spreading slightly on one side although that part is not raised. Its pink, you may think a little blister... EDIT: Probably a wart. Good idea to show it to a pharmacist, or your GP if you are worried. Check with your doctor. If its nothing it'll have put your mind at rest. go to ya GP.. you could show your lump to a pharmacist first they may advise you It doesn't sound like skin cancer. NO it's not silly to bother your GP. Make an appointment this week and get it sorted out. Do you hear me? Go to your Doc - they will not mind! I tend to think it's more likely to be something like a wart - but it doesn't do any harm to get it checked out! Hope all is well! Skin cancer can look a variety of ways but it's almost always a lesion that won't heal and never goes away but over time (months or years) gets larger. Melanoma is a very virulent type of skin cancer but it's always dark, almost black, in color. You don't mention if there's any pain to this lump but you say the word "blister." I had a friend who had shingles and she only had one spot. Yep, I agree with the other answers, you need to see your GP about it - better safe than sorry. No I don't think it's silly to go to the doctor with any lump. I have a few of these bright red little raised lumps on my abdomen. They are almost puce in colour and tiny. I was at the specialist with a sun spot on my forehead and he checked all over my body while I was there. He said those spots were only Blah Blah (I can't remember their names) and they are nothing to worry about. At that time i had loads of them. It may be to do with age as I am getting on in years. I wonder what age group you are in. They are not on my hands at all. I would be worried at the speed that it seems to be growing and anyway I think we need to be checked out for all these funny things from time to time. Go get it checked out I am sure he won't think you being fussy. And if your sent home with an ' Oh it's nothing to worry about" your flying The best thing to do is go to your doc. |
