How can I set up bins at stores, like Walmart that people can donate money for skin cancer research? i want to |
start my own foundation/program for that. how do i start? who do i contact? who do i send the money to? i want to make a difference. please help me. thank you so much. The laws vary from state to state on what you would have to do. You may need to register as a non-profit corporation both with the Internal Revenue Service as well as your state government (specifically, the Secretary of State or a similar division that governs corporations) in order to even have the legal ability to collect money. Some states, though, may allow you as an individual to solicit donations to remit to another charity -- it's best to see what the laws are in your state first, before you solicit donations. Do a search for cancer organizations, find one you want to be affiliated with and contact them about their fundraising policies. Besides the other good answers I would suggest that you approach independently owned stores. They are more likely to let you put up a bin than big stores like Walmart. contact the management at your local stores and they will direct u to the person u need to talk to if it is not them |
