If i tan on a stand up tanning machine 3 times a week 5mins for 1 month will i be at risk for skin cancer?? |
i tried it 1 time and i felt uncomfortable since all i thought about was skin cancer. I don't know if it was me, but i felt like my skin was being ''pinched'' around my body. i do have alot of freckles & birth marks. ANY tanning, whether in a machine or from the sun puts you at risk for skin cancer, moron. Tanned skin is damaged skin, so any amount of UV rays can potentially cause cancer. You'll be fine. Your body produces vitamin d in response to being it the sun / uv exposure. Vitamin d protects us from cancer. All the anti-sun crap is just that, crap. The sun is good for us. The other responses are just misinformed common knowledge that the sun will harm us. However, you should only be in the sun after acclimating yourself to it through small increments, and up to 2 hours per day once you've tanned. Aviod getting burned. Too much of a good thing is a bad idea. Any amount of extra UV exposure will increase your chances of getting skin cancer. |
