Do people who live in hot countries, have a bigger risk of developing skin cancer?

and when im in a hot country i never see the people who live there with suncream on and i do be wearing suncream but are they at higher risk?and how can dogs handle livin in that weather

As a Radiation Therapist and someone living in a 'hot' country (Australia) the answer is definitley YES. Obviously there are contributing factors but there is a direct link between sun exposure and cancer. Australia has one of the highest skin cancer rates comparitive to population in the world.

Prolonged sun exposure can cause damage to the dna of a cell and subsequent reproduction of this cell is how a cancer grows.

Using sunscreen does help prevent the sun causing any initial damge to the skin that would make you succeptible to a skin cancer growing, however no sunscreen is 'cancer proof' and you should always protect yourself by wearing a hat, clothing and sunscreen as well as avoiding spending time in the sun during the hottest part of the day (early afternoon).

Hope that helps.

No they do not have a higher risk of developing skin cancer as their skin is usually darker and that provides them with more protection than a fair skin person. However, it is still possible for them to get skin cancer.

No..doctor's really don't know what causes cancer!
