Well i found out a couple of weeks ago that i might have skin cancer and now im really scared to find out.....

well i had a mole on my side that is NEVER in the sun, and it started changing colors so a couple of weeks ago the doctor told me it might be cancer, so 2 weeks ago i got surgery to remove it and now i have 6 stitches in my side and it hurts like crazy. im really scared to find out on Saturday if i have cancer or not because almost everyone in my family had died from cancer...what should i do

i would think u would want to know so u could treat it its not the end of your life it IS treatable keep a positive attitude i hope everything goes well for u i know it s hard waiting on news like that i have breast cancer and was scared to get the lump check out but im glad i did b/c it was caught in early stage i have 2 young childrend i dont want to leave them keep a positive attitude

The waiting for results is a horrible time. Spend this time educating yourself in regards to skin cancer. Clothing is really ineffective in blocking the UV rays. More than likely it is atypical aka precancerous, meaning it just had a higher possibility of becoming cancerous.

It depends on what kind of skin cancer....if it is basil cell carcinoma, then you are o.k......if it is melonoma, that may be a different story, but if they caught it in time, you will be just fine. Stay out of the sun......
