Can sunscreen actually increase your chance of getting skin cancer?

Of course everyone says wear sunscreen, but I read an article like a year ago that sunscreen could actually increase your risk of getting skin cancer because it prevents some important things from getting absorbed into your skin or whatever it is. Has anyone else heard about this?

I have.

It prevents the sun's rays from being absorbed, which is OK for skin cancer, but it prevents you from absorbing Vitamin D, which is an essential nutrient. Vitamin D helps PREVENT cancers, and lacking that puts you at risk for many different types of cancer.

I haven't done enough research on this to find which is the better argument, though. I'm still checking things out.

But isn't that just the way it goes. Everything causes cancer, it seems. Just a sidenote, don't listen to the American Cancer Society. Not a nice corporation.

well its gonna help me, i have vitiligo and if i dont wear factor 60+ i could get skin cancer in the blink of an eye, no pigmentation under those parts of my skin and pigmentation shields you from the sunrays ..
