I am afraid of skin cancer? |
I am a faired skin red head and I burn easily. My parents told me I was burned badly when I was little all though I don't remember that. I get little sun burns every once in awhile that last for a day or 2. Yes, you could get skin cancer. Always wear a sunblock. There are also clothes that help to protect you from the sun's rays. Wear a hat and sunglasses when out in the sun. If you get skin cancer, you treat it right away. You don't let it go. It gets more complicated the longer you wait. Get your skiln checked yearly. Well, any time you get burned badly it increases your risk. Even slight burns can increase risk. A good way to prevent skin cancer is simply to wear sunscreen. Get one with a high SPF and make sure it says that it protects against UVA and UVB rays. The sunscreen will work best if applied every few hours if you're outside all day. But even if you aren't going out to the beach I would suggest wearing sunscreen daily. ah my light skinned friend you and i are in the same boat. I too and extremely fair skinned with freckles and a history of sun burns. I had sun poisoning a couple time when i was a kid which made my chances of getting it sky rocket. My advice to you is to never leave without sun screen on. You can burn in the winter too! And wear sun glasses, most people don't know that eyes can get sunburned. Lastly get your skin checked annually by a dermatologist. sun screen..wear hats or caps when in the sun. Had a friend that got skin cancer on her head. Don't bake in the sun.. relax , putting on sun screen give you skin cancer from lack of vit d |
