Skin cancer sun burn!!!?

ok well ive always bruned right under my eyes and my cheeks, sometimes i will burn the rest of my face. but i usually dont burn really anywhere else except everyonce and awhile on my calves. yesterday i was in the sun for a long time and i wore sun block only on my face and neck. i got really bad sun poisoning and some places im not even red. my dad is freking the crap out of me telling me im gonna get skin cancer and my mom says that i will get it on my face. now i can get how it is my fault for the rest of my body but i put spf 70 on my face and neck almost everytime i go outside cause i know i burn, but my moms all mad at me cause she thinks that i dont, i cant help that no matter what i always burn there. can i really get skin cancer? ive tried almost every sun block out there is there another really good one i could try? should i go see a doctor? i just dont really know what to do. please help me!?

You probably just have some skin damage, and there's nothing you can fix with that. Here are the signs you need to look for if you think you have skin cancer:

A- Assymetry: Is there a freckle or mole where one half is not symmetrical to the other half?
B- Border Irregular: Is the border of the freckle/mole curvy and not a circle?
C- Color varied: Is the color of one part of the freckle/mole differently colored than the other?
D- Diameter: Is the diameter of the freckle/mole larger than 6mm? (Use a pencil eraser and see if the freckle/mole is bigger than that)

If none of these signs show, then don't worry, you're safe. But if one of your freckles/moles match with the ABCD, you could have skin cancer

I live in Australia, and skin cancer is a real problem here!
If you must try to get a tan, put the lotion on from head to toe.
You will still get colour, but you chances of cancer are reduced.

It is hard to say if you are more prone to cancer than others. but the fact is, the more you go in the sun, then the more chances of getting cancer become! with or without SPF

The problem is that it won't show now, but later in life and by the time it is found, then it might already be to late to treat effectively.

Best thing is don't risk your life for a tan!

We have a saying here: Slip, Slop, Slap!
Slip on a shirt, slop on sunscreen and slap on a hat.
