Skin cancer probability?

i'm getting some moles checked out in about a month and a half (earliest they could get me in) but i am absolutely stressing out about this. i have mainly 2 moles of concern. both in spots that pretty much never see the sun. both are raised and both are of good size. i have accidentally shaved and shaved and shaved over both of them so they do have scars on them. they never hurt/ooze/bleed or anything. they are pretty uniform in color i think but the scarring makes it difficult to tell. they are also perfectly round. i'm biracial (black and white) and my skin tone is pretty light so i have burned a few times in the sun but i mainly just tan and i'm only 21. should i be as stressed out as i am over this? i mean i can barely eat i'm so stressed out. i've looked at pictures of melanoma and nothing even looks close to the moles i have but that doesn't mean much. ah someone help!

You don't say how long you have had these two moles, and if either of them has changed in any way. It's good certainly that they don't hurt, ooze or bleed. You are certainly young to get a melanoma, and the chance of getting *two* primary melanomas at the same time, and in different places, is really, really small.

I am not sure whether it would have helped, for you to have posted digital pictures of them, or not. Part of me would quite like to have seen them.

If there is any doubt a dermatologist has what is a called a 'dermatoscope' to help, that's a special self-illuminating magnifying glass which he /she looks at the moles with, through an oil film.

I hope this is of some help. You do sound to be more worried, than I would have thought was justified.

You just have to go to a dermatologist. Theres no other way to tell.
