Will tanning really cause skin cancer?

Will tanning really cause skin cancer?

Heya (=

I recently did an essay on skin cancer from tanning, if you tan using a sunbed you would have more chance of catching skin cancer, but just sunbathing in the sun you have less chance of getting it, the optimum amount of time to spend in the sun without sunscreen it 15-20 minutes, so i suggest you should sunbathe for 15 minutes without sunscreen then use the suitable amount for your skin.

Hope this helped ;] x

Very simply, sunburn and UV light can damage your skin, and this damage can lead to skin cancer. There are of course other determining factors, including your heredity and the environment you live in. However, both the total amount of sun received over the years, and overexposure resulting in sunburn can cause skin cancer. Most people receive 80% of their lifetime exposure to the sun by 18 years of age.

Tanning doesn't CAUSE skin cancer. If you have a genetic predisposition for it, then yes, tanning can be a catalyst to the grim outcome. What tanning does it, removes a lot of the skins antioxidents... Thus leaving you open to the chance. Not to mention the whole premature aging and wrinkling you will give yourself.

ACtually laying out in the sun is not so bad if you do it in moderation, I mean everyone needs some Vitamin D. But tanning beds are the worst thing you could do to your skin. Even if you dont develop cancer your skin will look old and leathery by the time your 35. When your 35 everyone will think your 50. trust me, do it the natural way for like maybe 25 mins a day and you can gradually tan without seriously damaging your skin. Good luck!

Yes, it does, no matter how much amount of sun cream you put on. It's so risky. Walking around town is enough sun, let alone sunbathing and tanning, honest to god, if you want to be safe, get the tan out of the bottle, it's really not worth it, which is why tan in a bottle has been invented.

it could because the UAV rays from the sun are pretty bad. But it also takes a long period of time to get skin cancer.
