Do black skinned people get skin cancer?

wow that's scary, I have quite dark skin and I never get sun burn or anything so I thought I wouldn't have to worry about it :/

Yes. Black skinned people can get melanoma . . and unfortunately because of the myth that they cannot . . the disease is frequently not found until it is advanced.

As they have a higher content of melanin (the pigment protecting us against UV radiation) in their skin, the risk of them getting malign melanoma is much lower, but in theory it still exists.

I'm not a profesesional by any means but i think that anybody could get skin cancer no matter what color you are. The sun has to be damaging to everbodys skin. That's just my opinion!!!

Yes they absolutely can. Black people who are especially at risk are those with large moles (diameter greater than 5 mm) on there body.
