Could this be skin cancer????

I went tanning in a tanning bed and stayed longer than usual, so on my cleavage I started peeling verry badly. underneath my left boob, it is red and it kinda feels a little scaley and rough. its not bumps, my skin is just really red and rough. could this be skin cancer? or just irratated skin? please help. I'm worried sick about this.

To be honest, i wouldnt have thought this was a symptom of skin cancer, most melanomas first appear in the form of an irregular mole, often with bleeding and crusting........in your case, it sounds as though you have badly burned your skin, which has caused the redness and irritation. It has been proven that long term exposure to sunbeds can increase your risk of getting skin cancer,so be cautious in future.

skin cancer wouldn't show up that quickly after tanning; however, tanning beds are no safer than the sun. prolonged exposure increases your chances for skin cancer.

There are many great self tanners via lotions and sprays now that look natural - and are safe. Check into it. Skin cancer is the most preventable type of cancer...not worth the risk!!

Sounds like just irritated skin. Tanning is bad on SO many levels for your skin. Try keeping it lotioned and give it a few days to go away. If it doesn't go see a Dermatologist, it could just be a rash of some kind. No worries :o)

i don't really think this is a symptom of skin cancer but don't stay in too long again because it could be bad for you.
if you are really worried about it see your doctor.
