Can a wart become skin cancer if its not removed??

i have a medium sized wart on my leg since i was like 5.

i think it grew larger and abnormal til now, so i went to the

doctor and checked it out incase it was something dangerous.

The doctor said it was just a wart and that i should go to the

derm. I went to the derm and they didn't say that it was

dangerous and that it was my choice for it to be removed or

not. Is it dangerous to leave it like this? can it mutate into a

cancerous cell or anything??

Please help me out! Thanks

to add a description of it, it doesn't hurt at all, and it doesn't even feel like it's there. I've never had any problems with it being there.

if it gets larger or darker or changes shaper or texture it is probably cancerous. The majority of warts do not become cancerous, and having them doesnt increase your rise of cancer. If the doctor said it wasnt malignant then its not, and chances are it won't become so. Removing it is strictly cosmetic, its not dangerous.

Normally warts are not known to become cancerous. They're just ugly and really bother us. A dermatologist can freeze and destroy the wart in a flash.

Moles are the culprits that turn really dark (real dark brown to a blackish color). These are the ones to be concerned about. They normally are flat and have ragged edges. When they look like this, it's best to get it checked for melanoma.

I'll bet you are sorry you asked this question now. Sorry, OK?

In a rambling sort of way, I really was trying to assure you not to worry about a wart, unless it's a plantar's wart. These spread if not removed by a "professional".
