Is this a wart or skin cancer?!? Please help me!? |
Im quite worried about this bump on my finger that I've had for about 5 years. the colour is exactly the same as the rest of my skin, it does not hurt. I thought it was a wart, so I tried the liquid wart remover, but it didnt go away( all it did is the layers of liquid dried up and gathered up on top of one another). What should I do? Can you tell me what this can be? Im sorry i had to post this in R and S, but the answers are very slow in the other catagories, so i thought there are some smart pple here. it is unlikely to be skin cancer. there is this ABCD rule for skin cancer. i remember B stands for border and C for color, well the color is the same as your skin It could also be a skin tag or just a benign growth. You really need to ask your doctor about it -- skin cancer can be very serious. Granted, it isn't likely to be skin cancer, but you should still have it looked at by a professional. Go to a dermatologist. They will remove it and test to see if it is cancer or not. Could be a seed wart, in which case that liquid wart remover is just like applying water to it. Doesn't do a darn thing. I had a seed wart that too six months to get out of my system and off my body. Started with one on a finger that reached down to the bone (almost passed out with that one!) 152 warts in all that spread though out my system and body. Not fun. Well, really, if it hasn't grown, changed, gotten worse, or turned a funky color like pitch black with a purple edge, or beet red with another color all round it or on it or something, then I'll bet it's a cyst. Sometimes they linger, sometimes they disappear, sometimes your dermatologist needs to dig them out, if they are impeding movement. Most skin cancers will be black in color..All unnatural bumps of any kind should be seen by a doctor.. Most can be removed in your doctors office and He can determine if cancer is present by sending samples to a lab. .Many people die unnecessarily because they ignore skin growths that turn out to be cancer.. Weird place to post this question...but I'll answer :) it sounds like a wart. Wart remover doesn't work for everyone. I've had some for more than 5 years, it has to do with your immune system and ability to fight them off. Lot's of young people get them, they are contagious...they go away on their own for alot of people but for some unlucky people(me!) they don't. :\ Might be a skin cyst of sorts. I would leave it be and have the dr check it out. Most likely is not skin cancer as that is normally a color different than your skin color and/or is a sore that does not heal. Warts are common on fingers. Skin cancer would likely have done something new in 5 years, but if you are concerned just ask your doctor next time you go in for something else. After 5 years, a special visit to the doctor doesn't seem to be needed. if you've had it for 5 years, I doubt it's skin cancer. But if you're really concerned, consulting your family physician is probably a better idea than Yahoo Answers. most likely it's simply a benign cyst.......have a doctor take a look, they can usually be removed with a simple outpatient procedure um......go to the doctor go to a doctor |
