Please help!! Is this a wart or skin cancer??

Im quite worried about this bump on my finger that I've had for about 5 years. the colour is exactly the same as the rest of my skin, it does not hurt. I thought it was a wart, so I tried the liquid wart remover, but it didnt go away( all it did is the layers of liquid dried up and gathered up on top of one another). What should I do? Can you tell me what this can be?

WART. go to a doctor, some warts aren't curable but you are more than free to ask. if its skin cancer you'll probably have different problems

If you have had it for apx. 5 yrs. my bet is on a wart. What you need to do and I know it will sound painful but it really is not..because the skin in the wart is dead. But you need to take a sharp knife or blade and cut the top off. Scrub it clean with some antibacterial soap and water-making sure to get any little brown seeds out of it too once open (this is what helps it grow) once this is done use the over the counter freeze wart remover found at walmart even. Just follow directions in the box. Then in between if need be you can use the liquid remover to help keep it down and you could possibly need to freeze it one more time to get it to go completely away since it has been five years or you could get lucky and it will just go away the first time. This is what the doctor would do but now they have made it possible to just do it at home with the new kits. Good Luck!!

In your specific case . .there is no way for anyone here to give you an answer . . you need to be examined to be diagnosed.

Go to a dermatologist to have this examined, removed, and biopsied. There is a type of cancer called sarcoma that can be mistaken for a wart . . it can be slow growing at first which leads many to assume it is harmless. But there is no way for any of us here to know what it is you are dealing with. This is a very rare type of cancer . . so rare that few regular oncologists have even seen it . . this is why if it is sarcoma that you would need to be treated by a sarcoma specialist or at a sarcoma center . . many times this type of cancer goes misdiagnosed until it is advanced.

The following sites describe two individuals with bumps on hand or finger which turned out to be a rare sarcoma called Epithelioid Sarcoma. There are other types of sarcoma of the hand or finger as well ( osteosarcoma, Ewings, synovial sarcoma, leiomyosarcoma, rhabdomyosarcoma, malignant fibrous histiocytoma, angiosarcoma, liposarcoma, neuroectodermal tumor, and clear-cell sarcoma can all arise in the hand or fingers, but are very rare.) Skin cancer is also possible on the hand.

Just a lump, with no roots. A collection of dermal cells which are harder and more aggressive than the surrounding normal skin. See a doctor - could be classified as a white mole.
