Science - Skin cancer?

I'm revising for my science GCSE, and I'm wondering;

1 - How many years does it take for skin cancer to develop?

2 - If you've sunbathed when you was young, will it develop into skin cancer into adulthood?

3 - How often should you see a dermatologist?

4 - Is there a ''cure'' for skin cancer, or is it only treatment?

5 - If treatment, how long can you live for until it comes back?

1- There is no set time frame, but it can take as long as 50 years.

2- You could, but it doesn't mean you will.

3- There are no recommendations for this. Some people go all their lives and never see a dermatologist.

4- The only cure is surgery if it is caught early enough.

5- It depends on the type of skin cancer. Melanoma is the least predicable and I have seen it come back as metastatic disease 40 years later.
