Is it smart to have a VP who denies medical fact regarding skin cancer, and sets the example to American youth?

...that a tanning bed is desirable? Sarah Palin installed a tanning bed in the Governor's Mansion as one of her first acts as elected official. Despite all cancer research to the contrary. Is that stupid?

"Gov. Palin鈥檚 use of a mansion-based tanning system even goes against the judgment of her state鈥檚 own public health agency, which issued a report, called the Alaska Comprehensive Cancer Control Plan 2005-2010, that describes cancer as 鈥渢he leading cause of death in Alaska,鈥?and specifically calls for encouraging 鈥渞egulations warning consumers about tanning beds and the risk of skin cancer.鈥?br>

鈥淭anorexia鈥?and Youth

Missouri University recently became the latest school to attempt to ban tanning beds on campus, due to the health risks for students.

Other health organizations warn of young people becoming addicted to tanning bed sessions, and label the condition as 鈥渢anorexia鈥?

Researchers at the Fox Chase Cancer Center in Philadelphia examined the tanning habits of 400 college students aged 18 to 24, using the same framework that defines substance addictions. They found that 27 per cent showed signs of 鈥渢anorexia,鈥?based on answers to questions like 鈥淒o you think you need to spend more and more time in the sun to maintain your perfect tan?鈥?and 鈥淒oes this (your belief that tanning can cause skin cancer) keep you from spending time in the sun or going to tanning beds?鈥?br>
Then, of course, is the fact that Palin鈥檚 running mate, presidential candidate John McCain, is himself a survivor of skin cancer and has been active legislating and advocating for its prevention. In 2001, he wrote a cover essay for Newsweek: 鈥淢y Battle With Skin Cancer.鈥?br>

So while McCain is out there campaigning for cancer prevention as a public health issue, appearing at joint forums with cancer survivor Lance Armstrong and such, his own vice president鈥檚 tanning bed habit could undercut that message, particularly to the nation鈥檚 youth."

No it isn't smart. Its stupid beyond belief. She is full of contradictions. Here she is possibly, hopefully not, VP with a running mate who has had skin cancer and she has a tanning bed. What a pig. Oh she is soooo bugging me in every way.

I heard that Obama once bought a car, thus he is for destroying the enviroment.

Your conclusion is logically flawed, so please, stop breathing.

but the problem with the sun it if the skin burns not the sun itself that is damaging to the skin and if the genes and body's immune system in not functioning correctly it can trigger cancer, but the sun itself and tanning is not the direct cause of skin cancer.

in German New Medicine for instance they believe cancer is linked to an emotional shock German New Medicine
http://germannewmedicine.ca/documents/we...
but I also think that toxins and genetics are involved as well, but the type of cancer might be linked to the type of emotinal shock on has.

Are you trying to convince us that her views on having a tanning bed is more important than her political successes?
As if a tanning bed could, or would prevent her from having the ability to be a great leader of this country? Get back in bed before you hurt yourself dear. You're scaring me now.

EDIT: Oh how surprising! A thumbs down for answering a benign question with a truthful answer.
