Usually if you have an unusual looking mole. Your physician will be able to tell . If he is suspicious of the mole he will deaden it & take it of or take a sample of it and have it tested.
Please have it tested---skin cancer is a serious matter. It could be nothing---but get it checked just to be on the safe side.

The only way to know for certain if you have skin cancer is to have a biopsy taken of the suspicious skin lesion and have that biopsy read by a good pathologist.

After well over a hundred dermatologist appointments spread over the past 15 years it has been my experience that the "correct visual guesstimate" ratio of dermatologists as to whether or not a suspicious skin lesion is cancerous or not after their just looking at the lesion is about 66% correct guesstimates, 33% incorrect guesstimates. The only way to know for sure whether or not a skin lesion is cancerous is to get a biopsy done.

If you're white, you have a greater chance to develop it. If you have been tanning, this could cause it. Also, do research on google (to check out the symptoms). Don't be hesitant to go to a doctor. Be aggressive. I know many people can beat this disease. Good luck.
