Skin cancer? |
FOR THE PAST MONTH I HAVE HAD A ROUGH PATCH (QUARTER SIZE) OF SKIN THAT I WAS TOLD IS WHITE...IT HAS NOT GONE AWAY...ANY IDEAS ON WHAT IT IS Anthony First of all only your MD can really tell you what this "patch" is....but cnacer is not usually white it is any color from red to black. Your white patch could be something as simple as dry skin, or Vitiligo..a condition in which pigment cells are destroyed and irregular white patches result. The exact cause is unknown. Several methods of treatment includes cortisone or other creams, light treatments, laser treatments, intense pulsed light (IPL), or skin grafting may be used to treat vitiligo, but there are no perfect therapies ECZEMA ....a mixture of dry skin and allergies. The important issue is not what causes eczema in the first place, but what allergies and skin irritants you might be exposed to that is triggering the flare-ups. Treatment..moisturize, moisturize, moisturize! This is the single most important step in minimizing your eczema Fungus (you didn't say where the white patch is) fungus also refers to a type of germ that lives on all of us. This germ is harmless most of the time, but sometimes it can cause a problem called a fungal infection . they're usually easy to treat becuase a fungus rarely spreads below the skin. Bottom line.... you need to see your MD or a skin doctor. Hope some of this helped Good luck but don't worry doesn't sound serious.. ;-) i bet it isn't skin cancer. but keep an eye on it and see if it changes in... color, size, or shape. depending on where it is, it could be this type of fungus that a lot of people get every winter when dandruf falls from your hair and lands on your shoulders and back and create little white, rough patches. good luck. and keep watching it (or have someone else) Check out: http://skincancer-treatment.blogspot.com...
