If you got skin cancer can you get a tan?

well ive had the skin cancer for 4 years now i always keep out of the sun now ,but a nurse told me if i cover my body in sun block i can get out in the sun!and get brown,any need?or is this true or wat?genuine answers please (i know to cover my head ect but to get a tan ???????

First of all , I would get a new nurse.
Secondly, if you are wearing SUNBLOCK, then you are blocking the sun.therefore you would not turn brown.
Thirdly. If you already have skin cancer, then any sun can cause you to develop more cancer.
Why would you be so vain as to want a tan when it can kill you.
Why not get a spray on tan? Use sunless tanner. use sunless tanner with sunblock.
but no sun.

Sorry to hear about that! I'd suggest trying the spray on self tanners. Banana Boat has a great one in a brown metal bottle. You can cover up with a 45 SPF or a zinc oxide but why risk it? Your skin is the 1st line of defense against inections etc. You may miss some areas with sunscreen, as the skin covers so much surface area. I love to be tan, but use spray on tans instead because when I go out in the sun I get rashes (prob. precancer).
use at least a 30 sun block and yes you can tan, but to be safe get ''spray painted'' or use a sunless tan cream..i have some skin cancers, but being the sun worshiper i am, i still get out there, my skin doc says no, but so far i havent caused any more out breaks, just use a strong sun block everywhere the skin is exposed..BE CAREFUL
Just as someone who has had a lung removed for lung cancer, a person who has skin cancer is "free" to try just as hard as they want to get it again!

Why would you want a "tan", knowing what you know? Are you crazy or just foolish?
The sun is evil and must be avoided at all costs.
If you have skin cancer you don't need sun or a tan. Why haven't you had it removed. I've had skin cancer including melanoma and it was removed . It will only get worse.
You need to stay out of the sun period. That said you don't have to go out covered head to toe in clothes, you do need to use sun screen and wear a hat to cover your face. Stay out of tanning beds. Try sunless tanners they work well. I have not only had breast cancer but skin too. You don't want to push you luck here.
