Has anyone experienced skin cancer removal?

I am wondering if anybody has had skin cancer on their face, and if so, what was your experience with scarring, healing time, etc. Thanks!

I had one removed that was on the bridge of my nose, close to the corner of my eye. Had to keep polysporin & a bandaid on it for about 2 weeks, but it healed with no scar. It was just creepy having the Dr. work so close to your eye with a scalpel.
Depending on the type of skin cancer ( there are 3 ) deterimines the amount of skin that needs to be removed.
I would only have a plastic surgeon trained in dermatology or pathology touch my face.
No way would I let the chances for scar happen.
It won't take you long to heal if you don't need radiation, etc..
They will remove the area effect clear down to the point where it isn't if they believe it could be cancerous. It will leave a scar unless a plastic surgeon is involved.

My husband had a place remove to verify whether it was cancer or not and they took 1/4 to 1/2 inch down into the skin and just about 1/4 inch across and then they stitched it. It left a scar.
My dad has had several removed from his face. He was back at work the same day, but they took a couple of weeks to heal completely. None of them left a scar, but they were all small. I guess it would depend on how big the spot is.
He also said that it didn't hurt at all. Good luck and best wishes.
I am a nurse in a dermatology office and with my experience with skin cancers on the face are easy to do in office and from what I have seen a dermatologist is better than a plastic surgeon
I had a couple of spots removed from my nose a couple of years ago. The dermatologist took a sample for biopsy on the first visit, surgically removed the spots on the second visit. This was followed by a six month visit. There was essentially no pain, no scarring, and the healing time was about two weeks.
