Could i get skin cancer, from only 3 sessions at the tanning both?(2 start my tan)? It's likely that if you have skin cancer now, then you had it before you stepped foot into the salon. However, the sessions may have exacerbated it or made it more apparent. As far as the 'safety' of fake bake (put forth by the poster above me), let me put forth this. Dihydroxyacetone (the tanning chemical) and even Erythrulose (another self-tanner) is not safe for inhalation. So, if you go to a spray tanning booth, you will end up inhaling this chemical into your lungs during the spray. So, while you may be avoiding the UV by spraying, you may not be avoiding medical issues later in life (because of the chemical inhalation). So, you need to weigh which one may cause more problems... UV damage to the skin or dihydroxyacetone inhalation. Using a self-tanner cream is the only way to avoid inhalation issues. Most spray tan units do not inject fresh air into the unit immediately following the spray. So, you're left standing there inhaling the dihyroxyacetone mist. In fact, MysticTan encourages this floating mist claiming it helps even out the tan. you can get cancer from only going once... once you get the tan, just maintain it in the sun. as long as you keep it up and don't get too pale, you're less likely to get skin cancer because the pigment actually protects you. that's why we tan, it's a natural defense against uv rays. Depends on the type of booth used, some safe some not. I've had 3 skin cancer surgeries (2 much beach) and they ain't pretty. You cannot get cancer from a tanning both. However, you can get acclerated skin aging. Not likely...... 97.6% chance Cancer doctor |
