What are the symptoms for Skin Cancer? |
Does anyone know the symptoms for skin cancer? Moles that are an unusual color or that change in shape or size. You should have a dermatologist examine you for moles for a baseline exam, and then go back every year to be re-evaluated. If you have any suspicious moles, make an appointment right away. the most common symptoms for skin cancer are changes in an existing skin growth (mole), a sore that does not heal, and a new growth on the skin There is really hardly no symptoms per say for skin cancer. Lesions on the skin can be red or dark colored. If you see this you should go to your local doctor and get them checked out. Here is a link to an NIH webpage including numerous photos of the different types of skin cancers. I would also caution you to see a dermatologist now if you even suspect you have a skin cancer because they often use "worst case scenario" photos for these webpages so if you wait until your skin problem is as bad as that in the photos, then you are really asking for trouble. http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/... Any angry red spot, sore that doesn't heal quickly, multicolored mole or anything else suspicious on your skin should be evaluated promptly by a dermatologist to find out if it is cancerous. http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/skinc... It depends on the type, first of all. Sores that don't heal, waxy bumps or nodules, or changes in moles. A change in a mole could be a change in color, texture, size, or bleeding/oozing. Some skin cancer is entirely undetectable. Please go to a dermatologist, who can better assess your risk. |
