What's the best way to get a lasting tan without getting skin cancer? |
What's the best way to get a lasting tan without getting skin cancer? GOOD QUESTION!!!! as for the creams that you can buy at the store that you just rub in your skin and you have a tan for several weeks without ever going in the sun, I've heard speculation that those could also cause cancer - studies are still researching whether the sunless tanners are safe or not. My recommendation is MODERATION - go in the sun for 15-20min each day (NO LONGER, EVEN THOUGH YOU SEE NO IMPROVEMENT THE FIRST FEW DAYS, OR YOUR SKIN WILL PEEL!) without suntan lotion, and after about a week, you'll have a nice tan without cancer. CANCER comes from people that stay in the sun for a full hour without suntan lotion; the BURN and their skin peels, and years later, the melanoma cancer appears! Instead of the above, you can go in the sun all you want, but just make sure you wear sunblock spf45 all the time. I use the coppertone LOTION that has suntan lotion inside it - IT'S NOT GREASY; IT'S LIKE REGULAR LOTION! put a little water on your skin first, then when you spread the lotion on, it'll spread more evenly. Source(s): I live next to the beach, and in the summer, i'm in the sun A LOT!!! My dad has melanoma (he's still alive, but he has the skin cancer), and so i'm really being careful. And so far, since i've been wearing suntan lotion all the time, I have a really nice tan (girls comment on my tan) and no signs of cancer. I've burnt a few times and IT IS NOT FUN!!! WEAR PROTECTION!!! (just like when you're with your woman. lol. ) fake n bake / tan in a can stuff don't go to the taning salons then - this is cancer in a box. The best thing to do is to go to the beach and wear a lower spf sun block lotion, then go in the water - basically the rays are better filtered (i think) and you tan better Those new-fangled spray booth tans. They look natural and are easy upkeep. sunless tan lotion |
