My grandma went to the doctors yesterday and she told us she had skin cancer..?

But she said she never goes out in the sun (which she doesnt) and im very afraid and dont know wat to do because if anything ever happens to her .. i promised my self never to talk again help!!!!! please

Well, whether skin cancer doesn't kill her, you know we all die someday. So I wouldn't promise never to talk again because you must accept the inevitable. Unless your grandmother's skin cancer is melanoma, she has an excellent chance of surviving, and even with melanoma, the chances are better than with many other types of cancers. Just be there to support and love her. Don't take this time on Earth for granted.
UV rays are ONE of the causes of skin cancer but this cancer can occur due to other reasons too. I suggest to take her to another doctor for a second opinion just to be sure.
go with her to the doctor get the facts
Skin cancer can be traced from childhood. It does not matter if she goes out in the sun NOW, the damage occurs when you are younger. My mom has skin cancer, and she is ok. With all of the medical technology, they can pretty much treat it with positive effects. Don't worry, if she does as the doctors say, she will be ok. My mom had Mohs surgery to remove the cancer, and now has to apply a topical cream to kill any existing cancer as it returns. It works great, and her doctor said she will be fine!
Okay, promising to "never talk again" when something that is inevitable is going to happen, is ridiculous for two reasons.

1) You can't prevent it.
2) You ARE going to talk again, and seem like a jackass for ever saying you wouldn't.

As for skin cancer, it is the most common cancer in America. Google it and learns facts about it. I'm sure there are many ways of contracting it, as almost everything nowadays causes cancer.
There are many types of skin cancer, not all are caused by the sun. Her doctor probably caught it early and there are a lot of treatments now that they can help her through this. Ask the Lord to help you through this, take one day at a time. Keep strong for your grandma help her out all you can. Maybe your grandma and your mom and you could sit down together and talk about what this means.
You don't say what kind of skin cancer your grandma has, but I will tell you that the majority of skin cancers will not result in death. Only Melanoma-type cancers do, and it is a very rare occurence. In the dermatology practice I work in (for 8 years) located in California where people worship the sun, we have only had 10 cases in a practice of about 20,000 patients. That's a little over 1 person with melanoma per year. And there are certain melanomas that won't kill you, just cause a lot of problems. If melanoma is detected early, it is for the most part, curable. So find out what kind of skin cancer she has and go to www.wikipedia.com and educate yourself about it. You'll be glad you did.
