What kind of sleep disorder do I have? |
My dentist told me I grind my teeth and night so I now have a night guard for that. I'll wake up and see things in my room that aren't really there-spiders, a man with a gun, a woman in a dress, the ceiling morphing into things, it could be anything. Then sometimes I wake up in a complete panic-I feel like I'm floating and I need to gasp for a breath, and my heart is beating fast and irregular, and my limbs feel light and weak. What is wrong with me!!?? Sounds like sleep paralysis. It happens to me maybe about 4 times a year. Thank God it's not that often.. It is very scary, most of the time i "feel" demons around and on me. Just google it and you will have all your answers. Everyone experiences it atleast once in a lifetime, some more than others unfortunately When you have these "visions", is it difficult to impossiblity to move your body? It is very seldom that I advise a head Shriner's services but in this case you should see a psychiatrist or psychologist. I am far from being a alarmist but it sounds to me like medical treatment will be necessary in your case.Good luck and I hope you improve. If you are paralyzed on waking, it's probably sleep paralysis which is harmless. Otherwise, it could be night terrors (real bad dreams) that bleed into the twilight between sleep and waking. Could be other things as well. You may be suffering from stress, try to eliminate the factors which are causing stress |
