I have 3 -4 nightmares a night and wake up nearly every 2 - 3 hours, do i have a sleep disorder? |
i always have dreams where people are trying to kill me or hurt me, or where my boyfriend is cheating or doing something horrible. i wake up constantly during the night and it takes me nearly an hour to fall back asleep, i have to get out of bed and get a drink in order for myself to be able to relax and fall asleep again. Hopefully you're not drinking alcohol to help you "relax." That will actually increase your nightmares. You probably don't have a sleep disorder, rather an anxiety or PTSD problem. You can talk to your doctor about these anxious problems and see what could be done about it. Talking things out with a therapist can help you. Or you could look into lucid dreaming, where you learn to control your dreams while you are in the middle of a dream. sounds like you are anxious about something. omg this same thing happens to me! i have the same kind of nightmares all the time and my husband has to wake me from them sometimes bc they are so intense. i do think it's some form of anxiety id go see your doctor..hell probably send you to a physciatrist..idk what it is.. To me it sounds like you make yourself worried about way too many things. It sounds like major anxiety. You may suppress all of the anxiousness during the day, and that would cause all the crazy dreams once you went to bed. I don't think it's a sleeping disorder so much as it is your way of handling stress. I'm just making assumptions here but make sure you TALK to people about your stresses every once in a while (people who contain their problems have a higher risk of cancer) so that your brain can shut off when you're trying to sleep. I have a few idea;s. You should take this up with you Dr. has it may be a condition that can be treated |
